From the Court to the Camera: How Basketball Shaped My Style and My Voice

Basketball has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was that kid who always had a ball in her hand, who spent hours on outdoor courts, practicing moves, studying players, falling in love with the rhythm of the game. For years, basketball wasn’t just a sport to me—it was a lifestyle, a mindset, and a space where I found confidence, community, and purpose.

I played professionally for several seasons, dedicating my body and soul to the game. But like many athletes, there came a moment when I had to pivot—when I had to rediscover who I was outside of the court. What I didn’t expect was that basketball had already prepared me for that transition. It taught me discipline, creativity, resilience—and most importantly, how to express myself boldly, unapologetically, and with heart. That’s where fashion came in.

Fashion, to me, is another language. Just like basketball, it’s about movement, attitude, and energy. The way I dress speaks volumes before I even say a word. I started working as a model and digital creator not because I wanted to fit into the fashion industry, but because I wanted to change it. I wanted to bring the raw energy of the streets, the culture of underground America, and the confidence I learned on the court into the way I presented myself—and the way I inspired others.

My style is heavily influenced by underground culture—oversized fits, bold colors, vintage sneakers, streetwear that carries stories. Every outfit I wear has meaning. It’s not about looking perfect; it’s about feeling powerful. My stylist Sofia De Felice help me and helped me finding the best outfits. She styled me a Basketball Jersey in a different way .. She knows that I want people to look at me and think, “She owns who she is.” Because that’s the message I want to send—especially to young women: Be proud, be loud, be you.

Self-confidence doesn’t come overnight. For me, it came through sweat, setbacks, and standing back up. Basketball taught me how to fight through failure, how to push past limits. Fashion taught me how to own my image, how to express who I am beyond words. When I put these two worlds together, something magical happened—I found my voice.

As a creator, I use social media to share more than just outfits or aesthetics. I use it to share mindset. I talk about confidence, self-love, identity, and growth. I show the hustle behind the scenes, the beauty of imperfection, and the joy of staying true to yourself. I believe that style isn’t just what you wear—it’s how you walk through the world.

My professional basketball career wasn’t long, but the impact it had on me was deep and lasting. Even after I stopped playing competitively, my passion for the game never faded. In fact, it grew. I realized that in Italy, there weren’t many women—if any—creating content about basketball from a personal, creative, and fashion-forward perspective. So I decided to take a risk. I picked up a camera, stayed true to my style, and started telling stories. I became one of the first girls in Italy to create basketball content in a way that was raw, real, and rooted in culture.

It wasn’t easy. Basketball had already taught me about discipline and sacrifice. It taught me what it means to be far from home, to leave your family behind in pursuit of a dream. I moved cities for the game, changed environments, grew up faster than most of my peers. There were moments of doubt, of course—moments where I had nothing certain in my hands. But what I had was a vision. And most importantly, I had the support of my family. They believed in me, even when the path I was choosing didn’t make sense to others. I’ll always be grateful for that. Their belief gave me the courage to keep going.

As a model, I started working with important brands, bringing my love for basketball into every shoot, every look. One of the proudest moments of my career was posing for a Victoria’s Secret campaign, alongside other amazing Italian women and celebrities. The campaign supported breast cancer research, and it was an honor to stand for something so powerful and important. It reminded me that fashion, like sport, can be a tool for change.

What I love most about the journey I’ve taken is that I get to break stereotypes every day. There’s still this idea that if you play basketball—if you’re tough, athletic, competitive—you can’t be feminine. But that’s not true. You can be strong and graceful, focused and stylish. You can work hard on the court and still love fashion, nails, creativity. I live in that intersection. I am that intersection. That’s where I’ve built my identity.

Every outfit I wear tells a story. Sometimes it’s a nod to New York street culture, sometimes it’s inspired by old-school hip-hop, or by the colors of the teams I used to love as a kid. My wardrobe is an extension of my mindset: bold, rebellious, proud. I dress to feel powerful—and to remind others that they can do the same.

Today, through my work as a creator, I’m committed to sharing more than just fashion or sports. I want to promote positive values, inclusion, self-acceptance, and growth. I want young girls—especially the ones who feel like they don’t fit into the traditional boxes—to look at me and think, “If she can do it her way, maybe I can too.” I want to be a reference point, a mirror, a sister. I know what it feels like to be the only girl in a gym full of guys, or to walk into a shoot where nobody expects a basketball player to show up in style. But I show up anyway—and I do it with confidence.

Over time, my platform has become more than just a space for sharing campaigns, outfits or basketball contents —it’s become a place for connection. I’ve built a community of people who resonate with authenticity, who are drawn to a mix of culture, sport, and style. Whether it’s through a video of me shooting hoops in a vintage jersey or a post about mental strength and self-worth, I always come back to the same mission: to uplift others.

Being a creator today means having the responsibility to shape narratives. We live in a world where image often comes before substance—but I believe the two can coexist. I use my image to tell real stories. Those who know me and follow me, they see I speak about sacrifice, growth, identity, and finding power in your own journey. I want to show that beauty isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence, confidence, and courage. That’s the message I try to deliver—especially to girls.

To the young girls who follow me, who love basketball but feel like they don’t belong, who love fashion but don’t see themselves in traditional spaces—I see you. I was you. You do belong. You don’t have to choose between being sporty and stylish, between strength and softness, between chasing your dream and being true to yourself. You can be all of it. You can be multidimensional. You can be powerful and gentle, tough and elegant. You can own your story.

Looking ahead, my goal is to keep growing, learning, and inspiring. I want to collaborate with brands that align with my values—brands that care about diversity, representation, and creativity. I want to create projects that merge basketball and fashion in unexpected ways. I want to keep telling stories from the court to the catwalk, and everywhere in between.

But most of all, I want to continue building a legacy that’s about more than myself. A legacy where basketball meets self-expression, where fashion is a tool for empowerment, and where young women can see themselves reflected in new ways. I’m proud of the woman I’ve become—not because everything was easy, but because I never gave up on what made me different.

This is just the beginning. I’m still evolving. Still exploring. Still dreaming.

And I’ll keep showing up—with style, with confidence, and with heart.
